Hi Everyone! My name is Kathryn and I will be your Flight Attendant / Aerial Yoga Instructor today. "Flight School" is appropriate for ALL LEVELS OF YOGIS - including first-timers!! Don’t be intimidated if you’ve never tried it before, you CAN do it, I assure you. :)
This class will include a full-body stretch for improved flexibility, a few basic inversions for spinal decompression, affirmations for self-growth & intentional living, balance work, guided meditations, + tons of positive & grounding energy. It is recommended (but not required!) that you wear comfy clothing that isn't too baggy - so it doesn't get caught on the silks during your practice. It is recommend that you wear sleeves covering the armpit area - for those newer to aerial yoga. The benefits of aerial yoga range from stress relief & calming anxiety - to spinal decompression and improved range of motion. It also can increase body awareness, coordination/balance, cardiovascular health, upper-body/deep core strength, and even hormonal balance. The support of the silks directly counteracts the law of gravity; therefore, facilitating the release of tension from our muscles and joints in a gentle/low-impact, yet effective way.
